12 July 2020. In the village of Durgapur Ghuski of Semapur OP area, Barari Block, Katihar District, Bihar, India, a furious father cut off his eight-year-old innocent daughter's head with a shovel and threw it to the deserted place. The accused called his wife and informed about this whole incident.
The man Mo Abdul Bashir used to work in a faraway city Surat, Gujarat before Lockdown. When he return to his family from Surat due to the lockdown, he started assaulting his wife after a few days. The wife repeatedly fed up with the assault and went to her maternal home just one kilometer away. Bashir kept her two daughters, 10-year-old Mehangar Khatoon and 8-year-old daughter Tanjuma Khatoon. His wife Tarabano only took the youngest toddler daughter with her back to her maternal home about two weeks before the murder took place. His son also committed suicide not bearing the father's harassment.

Late Sunday Evening, Bashir took his younger daughter and told the elder daughter that he was taking her to the market to buy her mangoes. The elder daughter opposed that she should not take her to the market, but the father forcedly took her. Late in the night, when Bashir did not reach home with his younger daughter, The elder daughter informed her mother and everyone started searching. On Monday afternoon, Bashir called his wife over phone that her daughter will be found on the bank of the Madhura bridge river. He told his wife that Tanjuma begged him not to kill her, but he drawned her in water. Seeing Tanjuma became unconscious, he took a hoe to chop her neck severing her head to finally kill her. The wife informed the police. People found Tanjuma's severed head on the bank and headless torso under soil up the stream. A blood stained spade was also recovered. The head and body of the deceased were sent to the hospital for autospy. Bashir closed his phone and tried to escape to Delhi by train, however the police arrested him and found his train ticket to Delhi.
